Puliyankudi acid lime

Puliyankudi acid lime is known for its thin, aromatic skin, high citrus level, and abundant juice. The fruits are relatively small, averaging around 50g, and each tree can produce a large number of fruits (around 950). The lime has a very high juice content of 50-55%, which makes it desirable for food processing. The Puliyankudi acid lime has been granted a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, recognizing its unique qualities and its association with the Puliyankudi region. Puliyankudi is a major center for acid lime cultivation in Tamil Nadu, with suitable climate and soil conditions contributing to its success.
